The 2-Wheeled Line Follower Robot Course is a practical, project-based robotics program designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of robotics, electronics, sensors, motors, and programming. Students build their own two-wheeled autonomous robot and learn how to program it to detect and follow a predefined path using IR sensors.
Throughout the course, students work hands-on with components such as an Arduino UNO, IR sensors, BO geared motors, wheels, motor driver, chassis, and jumper wires. They learn how individual electronic components work, how to connect them correctly, and how software can be used to control a physical robot.
The main project involves building a functional 2-wheeled line follower robot from individual components. Students assemble the robot, connect the electronics, write and upload the Arduino program, calibrate the sensors, and test the robot on a track.
As they progress, students can experiment with different sensor positions, motor speeds, turning responses, and control logic to make their robot follow the line more smoothly and efficiently.
By completing the course, students develop practical skills in:
Robotics • Arduino Programming • Electronics • Sensors • Motor Control • Embedded Systems • Logical Thinking • Problem Solving • Debugging • STEM Engineering
At the end of the course, students will have built and programmed their own autonomous 2-wheeled line follower robot and gained a strong foundation in sensor-based robotics. The project also provides a stepping stone toward more advanced concepts such as obstacle-avoiding robots, maze-solving robots, autonomous vehicles, and competitive robotics.
This course includes 0 modules, 0 lessons, and 0 hours of materials.
